New Indoor RadioPlanner 2.0!!! Not only indoors :)

We are glad to present the new Indoor RadioPlanner 2.0

Indoor RadioPlanner 2.0 is designed for planning indoor wireless networks deployed inside buildings, as well as in open local areas.

With Indoor RadioPlanner you can design any network, including:

-  Wi-Fi networks in the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands

-  Mobile networks: 5G (NR), LTE, UMTS, GSM, WCDMA

-  Public safety mobile networks: P25, TETRA, DMR, dPMR, NXDN

-  Wireless IoT LPWAN networks: LoRa, SigFox

In new Indoor RadioPlanner 2.0, you can work with two types of projects:

1.       Indoor project: When access points are placed inside a single- or multi-story building. In this type of project, it is possible to predict detailed coverage on different floors inside buildings, taking into account individual parameters of signal loss of internal walls, RF Zones of different rooms, as well as losses in floor slabs.

2.       Outdoor project: When access points are placed in an outdoor local area up to 2 by 2 km in size. In this type of project, it is possible to predict coverage inside and outside buildings - along streets, in open local areas, etc. Buildings in such a project have two parameters - RF zone type (one for the entire building) and external wall type.

New features:

1. Now you can perform calculations for several networks in the project. Joint calculations for several networks are provided - Number of Servers and Maximum aggregated Throughput (DownLink and UpLink).

2.LTE and 5G (NR) network planning. Accounting for various MIMO, SDMA, and LTE Frequency Reuse (FFR) plans. Added new types of calculation: Calculations of the maximum throughput up and down; calculation taking into account frequency aggregation, calculations of RSRP and RSRQ levels.

3. Taking into account the influence of the useful signal and interference from access points located on adjacent floors.

4. New Editor for walls, RF zones and buildings

5. Added new types of calculation, a complete list of types of calculation:

- Received Power (DownLink and UpLink)

- Best Server (DownLink and UpLink)

- C/(I+N) Ratio (DownLink and UpLink)

- Maximum Throughput (DownLink and UpLink)

- Maximum aggregated Throughput (DownLink and UpLink)

- Number of Servers (DownLink and UpLink)

- RSRP

- RSRQ

6. Added Legend with the output of general network parameters, parameters of the selected propagation model, parameters of the current calculation and some calculated values at the point.

7. In an outdoor project, you can use a regular base map (OpenStreetMap, etc.), or a base map based on a calibrated image.

The user manual and a trial version are available on the Indoor RadioPlanner 2.0 webpage.

This Indoor RadioPlanner is a wonderful tool and it is one of easiest to use in its kind (at least to my experience). The Wireless-Planning team has added some excellent features in Version 2.0, the enhancement to the wall creation tools makes it very efficient and the ability to create and simulate multiple networks with different technologies on the same floor plan is fantastic. Compare to the costs of other similar tools the Indoor RadioPlanner is money well spent. Thank you to development team.
